SDA Eligibility

Are You Eligible for SDA? Let Disability Housing Solutions Guide You
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is designed for NDIS participants with extreme functional impairments or very high support needs. If you’re unsure about your eligibility or how to access SDA funding, Disability Housing Solutions (DHS) is here to help.

Who is Eligible for SDA?
To receive SDA funding, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Extreme Functional Impairment or Very High Support Needs

You may qualify if you:
✅ Have significant difficulty with mobility, self-care, or daily activities, requiring specialist housing.
✅ Require intensive person-to-person support throughout the day due to complex needs.

2. SDA is the Most Suitable Support for You

The NDIS assesses whether SDA is the best option by considering:
✔️ Whether SDA will increase your independence and quality of life.
✔️ If it is cost-effective compared to alternative supports.
✔️ Whether it helps you achieve your long-term NDIS goals.

3. Your Funding Request is Considered “Reasonable & Necessary”

The NDIS ensures SDA funding aligns with your individual plan and disability-related needs, working alongside other supports like SIL (Supported Independent Living).
